Job Description:

Sous Chef

Pay: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours p/w

Location: Oxford

Are you an experienced chef looking for your next opportunity? We're recruiting on behalf of an established and prestigious educational establishment in Oxford is seeking a Sous Chef to join its Catering department.

Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to deliver high-quality food and excellent customer service.

Duties include:

• Assist the Head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen.
• Prepare and produce high-quality food to internal standards.
• Supervise and support chefs, kitchen porters and trainees.
• Assist with menus, ordering, costings and food preparation.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, HACCP and health & safety.
• Monitor food quality, portion control and wastage.
• Deputise for the Head Chef when required.

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Second Chef or similar.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP and allergen control.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative.
• Professional, positive and flexible approach.
