Software Engineer

Oxford, Oxfordshire | Hybrid | £60-80k DOE 

We’re working with an innovative biotech based in Oxford. They are looking for a Software Engineer to join their team and build the software and data tools that support their scientific research and drug discovery programmes.

This is a great opportunity for a software engineer who wants to move beyond traditional product development and see their work have a direct impact on scientific research.

The Role

• Designing and developing internal applications and web-based tools for scientific and biological data
• Building user interfaces using JavaScript / TypeScript and React
• Developing applications, services and APIs using .NET / C#
• Working with biological and biomedical datasets and developing data-access solutions
• Integrating external APIs, scientific resources and internal systems
• Contributing to AI and data-driven tools used by scientific teams
• Working closely with bioinformaticians, data scientists and biologists

What They're Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong commercial experience with .NET / C#
• Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript and React
• Working knowledge of Python
• Experience building and maintaining production-quality software
• Experience working within an Agile development environment
• A degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biology, Biomedical Science or another relevant scientific discipline
