Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a busy residential housebuilding project in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an established housebuilder on a long-term temporary contract, with approximately 18 months remaining on the project.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of a residential housing development. You will ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest possible quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day running of the construction site.
• Supervising subcontractors and coordinating all daily site activities.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Managing and maintaining the construction programme to ensure deadlines are met.
• Monitoring the quality of work and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the development.
• Coordinating trades, subcontractors, materials and site logistics.
• Carrying out regular site inspections and monitoring progress against the programme.
• Managing site paperwork, including health and safety documentation, inspections and records.
• Ensuring plots are completed to the required standard and ready for handover.
• Liaising with the Contracts Manager, technical teams, subcontractors and other key stakeholders.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and professional site environment.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Site Manager within residential housebuilding.
• A strong background in managing new-build housing developments.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades on site.
• A strong understanding of construction processes, build programmes and quality standards.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage workloads effectively and deliver projects to programme.

Essential Qualifications

• SMSTS
• CSCS Card
• First Aid at Work
• Full UK Driving Licence

The Opportunity

This is a temporary position offering approximately 18 months of work on an established residential development in Oxford. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of a busy site and play a key role in the successful delivery of the project.
