Job Description:

Enjoy a permanent Plumber role carrying out reactive repairs across social housing properties in Oxford and the surrounding area, offering a salary of £37,000–£39,000 depending on experience. This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced Plumber with at least 5 years of hands-on plumbing experience, working independently to diagnose and resolve a range of day-to-day plumbing issues. The role offers Monday to Friday working hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a company van, fuel card, tools and uniform provided. There is also the opportunity to earn additional income through overtime and an on-call rota, with standby payments and enhanced rates for call-outs. As a Plumber, you will be:

• Completing reactive plumbing repairs across social housing properties in Oxford.
• Tracing and fixing leaks and diagnosing plumbing faults.
• Repairing and replacing taps, sinks and other plumbing fixtures.
• Carrying out repairs to bathrooms and associated plumbing systems.
• Unblocking sinks and dealing with other common plumbing issues.
• Working independently to assess problems and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Collecting materials from local suppliers when required using a company trade card.
• Using an iPad and iPhone to receive, update and complete jobs.
• Working safely and professionally within occupied properties.
• Completing jobs to a high standard while providing a reliable service to residents.
• Working flexibly as part of an on-call rota, approximately one week in eight.

I'd love to speak to anyone who has:

• At least 5 years of practical plumbing experience.
• Strong experience carrying out reactive plumbing repairs.
• Experience working in social housing, housing maintenance or a similar environment is highly desirable.
• Good experience diagnosing leaks, repairing taps, bathrooms and sinks.
• The ability to work independently and manage a varied daily workload.
• A reliable and professional approach when working in occupied properties.
• The ability to pass a DBS check.
• A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Formal NVQ qualifications are not required where you have substantial, demonstrable plumbing experience.
• CSCS is not required for this position.
• You do not need additional trade skills, as this is a plumbing-only role.
• Ideally living within approximately 30 minutes of Oxford to support reliable attendance and local coverage.

Salary & overtime
The salary is £37,000–£39,000 per year depending on experience.
There is also the opportunity to increase your earnings through overtime and the on-call rota. You will receive £250 for being on standby for the week, even if you receive no call-outs. Any call-outs during your standby week are paid at double time.

Location & travel
The role is based across Oxford, with candidates ideally living within approximately 30 minutes of Oxford to support reliable attendance and local coverage.
A company van and fuel card are provided, meaning you will not be expected to use your own vehicle for work. Materials will need to be collected when required, with a trade card provided for purchases.
Interviews will take place on site in Oxford from the 28th onwards. The interview will be conducted by a manager and supervisor and will include two technical scenarios and two situational questions.
The successful candidate will be expected to start approximately two weeks after receiving an offer.
