Job Description:

Mechanical Technician - TXM Recruit are currently looking for a Mechanical Technician to work for a rapidly expanding retail maintenance team on a 12-week temp to perm scheme.

• Location – Oxfordshire and surrounding
• Salary – £41,206/yr. (£19.81 per hour PAYE)
• Hours - 6am to 3pm - Monday to Friday (Can be flexed for childcare etc)
• Weekends - 1-in-4 weekend shift (1.25x rate for Sunday)
• Overtime - Overtime is there at 1.5x

As a Mechanical Technician your duties will include:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on lifts, escalators, travelators and lifting equipment.
• Diagnose faults and complete reactive repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Maintain and repair powered doors, roller shutters, fire shutters, gates and dock levellers.
• Service and repair compactors, balers, pallet stackers and scissor lifts.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and equipment failures.
• Complete inspections, testing and certification to ensure equipment is safe and compliant.
• Record maintenance activities and repairs using digital reporting systems.
• Work closely with site teams to minimise disruption to daily operations.
• Follow health and safety procedures and relevant machinery regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineer or Equiv.
• Or Mechanical Apprenticeship
• Full UK driving license.

There will be daily duties to ensure the tablet is updated, this may be reporting issues, H&S notes or sending emails. Technology will be used in the form of a PDA Tablet and Company provided Smartphone.
