HSE Advisor

South of England (South East & South West Region)

Salary: £36,000 - £45,000

Our client is looking for an HSE Advisor who can build relationships, influence behaviours and support operational teams to create a positive and proactive safety culture across our business. 

Our client provides essential energy and infrastructure support services to customers across the UK. Their operations include distribution, engineering, installation and maintenance activities, offering a varied and rewarding environment for health and safety professionals.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Occupational Safety, you'll act as a trusted advisor to operational managers across the South East and South West regions, supporting a portfolio of sites stretching from Kent across to Cornwall and South Wales. The role offers a blend of home working and regional travel, with most weeks involving site visits alongside remote-based administration and stakeholder engagement. 

You'll provide practical HSE support across a range of operational environments, helping colleagues understand risk, improve safety performance and maintain compliance without losing sight of the people behind the processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting site inspections and operational safety audits
• Supporting accident and incident investigations
• Carrying out risk assessments including fire and workplace transport assessments
• Delivering training and coaching to operational teams
• Advising managers on HSE best practice and compliance requirements
• Supporting the ongoing development of a positive safety culture

• Building strong relationships with site managers and regional leadership teams 

About You

We're open to speaking with experienced HSE Advisors as well as individuals who are earlier in their health and safety career and looking for the next step. The key requirement is a passion for safety, excellent communication skills and the ability to influence people positively.

You'll ideally have:

• NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum requirement)
• Experience within a health and safety, HSE or SHEQ environment
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• A practical approach to risk management and problem solving
• The ability to travel extensively across the South region

• A full UK driving licence
