Job Description:

The Engineering Design Manager will lead the Engineering function, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently from customer brief through to production. Working across Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality, you will drive collaboration, manage resources and implement the processes needed to support a high-performing and scalable business.
 
The Engineering Design Manager will:

• Lead engineering projects from concept through to production release.
• Manage engineering resources, priorities and project delivery.
• Develop and maintain project plans, milestones and risk management activities.
• Drive programme governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support supplier engagement and technical reviews.
• Improve engineering processes, documentation and design governance.
• Oversee quality activities across incoming inspection, production and final release.
• Act as the key interface between Engineering and other business functions.

 
The Engineering Design Manager will have:

• Leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing engineering teams and delivering New Product Development (NPD) projects.
• A strong understanding of precision engineering and machining processes.
• Experience with quality assurance systems and continuous improvement activities.
• Knowledge of CAD systems, engineering drawings and PDM systems.
• Experience with project management, resource planning and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
