Commis Chef  – Temp to Perm in Witney, Oxfordshire (OX29) ongoing 

£16.00 per hour - Monday to Friday 6:00pm–2:00am Immediate Start

We are recruiting for an experienced Commis Chef  to join a well-established contract catering team in Witney, Oxfordshire, on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commis Chef who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop their skills in a professional catering environment.

You’ll work alongside another chef, catering for approximately 150 people across two evening services.

What you’ll be doing as a commis chef 

• Reheating and serving fresh food prepared by the day team
• Cooking some dishes from fresh
• Preparing fresh salads for the salad bar
• Preparing and carrying out prep for the breakfast service
• Keeping kitchen areas clean and tidy
• Adhering to food hygiene and health & safety regulations
• Supporting with general kitchen porter duties
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

There is a dedicated night cleaner for the restaurant, so your main focus will be ondelivering great food and excellent service.

What we are looking for in a commis chef 

• Previous experience working as a commis or very experience kitchen assistant that wants to progress
• Someone who can work on their own initiative
• Reliable and confident working independently at night
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen standards
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
• Own transport is essential due to the location and working hours
