Job Description:

Coil Winder | Abingdon | up to £34,000 plus benefits:
  
A global specialist manufacturer with an amazing history and presence within their industry is looking to recruit a Coil Winder. Joining a talented Manufacturing team, the Coil Winder will ensure that the company products are fully assembled and tested before leaving for customers.
  
This is a hands-on role which will ideally suit someone has worked in a Coil Winder or Coil Winding role before working on superconducting magnets. Some of your Coil Winder duties will include:

• Winding coils of various sizes for superconducting magnets to specifications defined in work instructions from engineering to achieve correct turns per layer.
• Prepping coil formers for winding to specifications defined in work instructions from engineering.
• Prepping wound coil formers for coil resin impregnation.
• Measuring of coil formers and recording results.
• Measuring of Superconducting wire and recording results.

The successful Coil Winder should possess the following experience and skills:

• Experienced in winding coils for Superconductor Magnets.
• Experience in the use of various Superconducting wires (square and very fine wire)
• Familiar with operating and setting of manual winding machines.
• Use of measuring equipment (Vernier callipers & Micrometres)
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a team player.
• Some understanding of ISO 9001:2015 would be desirable
• Strong commitment to safety and quality. 

Additional Skills (Desirable not essential)

• Mechanical fitting and assembly.
• Vacuum knowledge and leak testing.
• Resin transfer knowledge.
• Full clean driving license is preferred but not essential.
